After living in New York City for several years we finally made it for the first time to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
We went the night before to the busy scene surrounding the Museum of Natural History (Central Park West around 80th Street). The big balloons for the parade are inflated on the streets surrounding the musem. There in the eerie light of dozens of portable floodlights thousands of people tour the big block around the museum. It is quite surreal! The next morning we were on Broadway above 55th Street in near freezing tempurature but with sunny skies and a gentle breeze along with thousands of others to witness the spectacle. |
