Red Canyon

You're driving along on the twenty mile stretch of Utah Highway 12 that leads to Bryce Canyon. The road rises straight into a pass in a bluff ahead. At the pass suddenly you're in Red Canyon which must be the Flintstones neighborhood - in red! Bright red hoodoos (the red sandstone spires) are up close and Everyone stops at the first turnout about fifty yards into the canyon and shoots film, video, whatever of the startling sight. Folks with good sneakers take the trails to get a deeper feel for the place.
