Saturday May 18, 1996, we flew from NY to Las Vegas via Los Angeles. At the airport in LA, Lorenz's mother, Maria, and sisters, Jessica and Cynthia, met us for a few hours between planes. We combined celebration for a few occasions and had some pineapple upside-down cake that Jessica made.

Arriving in Las Vegas in late afternoon we left immediately in a rented car. Click the map to see our itinerary ->
Saturday May 25, 1996, we drove back from the South Rim to Las Vegas. To recross the Colorado River we drove over the Hoover Dam. In Las Vegas we spent several hours gaping at the 'The Strip' and trying to get a vegetarian meal then caught a mid-night flight home.
